Amigurumi failure...

Let me start by saying I love this blog. And I wanted to make an Amigurumi. My friends gave me a kit for making little stuffed animals for Christmas, so I tried to finish this little fish over the weekend. It's terrible.

Look at it.

Just terrible.

A few things I know I did wrong, the rest... I just don't know.

I didn't read the directions well enough. I missed the part where it says to leave the red yarn from the lips long so you can pull it later. I tried to fashion a new one.

I also started crocheting in the wrong direction at some point! How I did that when working in the round, I do not know. You can clearly see this fish is half inside out! Poor old thing!

I also did not keep good count OR I was supposed to join even though it does not say to join.

Well it's one for the scrapbook I guess. Something to finish even if its terrible or try again another day...

Sometimes things don't work out the way you planned, but if you learned something then it must have been worth it.

  1. Erin, I like your little fishie! You need to take a piece of red yarn and cinch his tail up a little, then make him some lips and fins and sew them on. Then little black button eyes and he will be so cute!

PS if you give him to any child under the age of 8 or so, they will love him regardless. I have grandkids and I know this to be true.
