Therapy and a Cloche

I've said before that crafting is calming for me and can really help in hard times. A dear friend of mine was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The process of getting to that conclusion and the road ahead of her was long and bumpy. The day I had to share that news was very hard. There's something about saying something like that out loud that makes your heart bleed.

Needless to say, I headed straight to Hobby Lobby that day for crafting therapy. it was then that the idea for this cloche came to me. I wanted to make her something classy and not too obvious, but also encompass her passion for prevention awareness. It is absolutely beautiful, and although I wanted to wait for her treatment to begin before giving it to her, I am terrible at keeping my own secrets. I'm so happy that she likes it, and even happier that I can sell the pattern and finished product to fund raise for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The pattern is so versatile, it can be made in any colors to represent any cause. I'm certain I will be making one with a red ribbon for Heart Disease.
