One of the neat things about this hat is that I started it while flying home from Phoenix. I don't fly often, so it makes this hat a little more special. Had I been able to stay awake on the plane, I might have finished the hat portion during that 3 hour flight. The pattern is very easy to work through and it was a relatively quick hat to make. There are A LOT of pieces to the hat, and you work through it in stages. The Hat, the Visor (2 pieces), the Blade, the Vents, and the Buttons.
It took a long time to get the buttons put on correctly so that the visor would stay down over his face. I recommend having someone wear the hat and hold the visor tightly in place, then put pins in the hat where you can then add the buttons. I had to re-sew the buttons on 4 times before we had them in the right place.
It looks fantastic and the visor is easy to move up and down. What variations have you made of the knight helmet?
