I found this free pattern at FaveCrafts.com, but after trying to make the infant size I found I had a hat too big even for myself! I pulled it all out and started over with my own version. This is what I did....
Size G Hook
Light Weight Yarn (size 3)
I worked the first 4 rounds as described in the pattern. Then I repeated the 4th round for rounds 5 through 14. I then moved on to the brim.
Brim:
I followed the pattern for the first 3 rounds.
Round 4: ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, FPdc around next dc, {dc in next 5dc, FPdc around next dc} around, join with beginning ch-3.
Rounds 5-7: repeat round 4
Round 7: ch 1, reverse (crab) sc in each stitch around working from left to right, join with sl st. Fasten off.
